Supervisor - Electrical Assembly

The Opportunity

You will be accountable for the team’s ability to meet production quality and delivery goals by placing high standards on effective teamwork, clear communication, initiative, intelligent judgment, achieving and maintaining production efficiency and, most importantly, dedication to the quality of the product produced, while ensuring the department is working in a safe and cost-effective manner.

What you will do?

  • Direct and delegate the daily schedule of operations within the department.
  • Accomplishes electrical objectives by training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Achieves electrical engineering operational objectives by contributing electrical design information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; implementing change.
  • Develops/create strategic electrical plans by studying operational plans; studying existing conditions; determining needs to accomplish operational plans; mapping solutions; updating and modifying requirements and solutions.
  • Plans electrical projects by determining specifications; establishing installation schedules; planning shutdowns and installations; integrating requirements with architectural and mechanical designs; verifying code requirements; updating cost estimates.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with codes and legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by remaining current on codes and requirements.
  • Lead the Electrical floor team, mentor and motivate team members, ensuring individual and group productivity.
  • Maintain delivery schedules
  • Ensure that all machinery & equipment is in operating order and that staff has been trained to use machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure that adequate production supplies and materials are available to maintain operations schedule.
  • Ensure that company quality standards are maintained on all fabricated equipment, including welding quality standards and to assume responsibility for quality output
  • Responsible for being aware of and adhering to company safety policy, employee handbook, accident & injury reporting procedure and all other company policies & procedures.
  • Provide training to staff to ensure smooth operations of departmental and company quality and delivery.
  • Ensure team members are utilized efficiently and are working cooperatively.
  • Resolve issues and conflict among team members.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping for the department as well as the Integra facility. This includes general cleanliness of work areas, proper care and use of tools and equipment.
  • Work in a confidential manner when dealing with employee or company related issues.
  • Verifying the accuracy of your team’s time sheets for attendance, hours of work, and job hour allocation
  • Responsible for Inventory control of job-related projects (ensuring team has necessary materials and supplies)
  • Additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to make effective decisions in an expedient manner while maintaining extremely high-quality standards
  • Conduct safety/toolbox meetings
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Time management, scheduling and prioritization skills
  • Excellent Communication, Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Successful completion of First Aid Training
  • The successful completion of the supervisor training program required of all supervisors in Ontario
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
